CONGRATULATIONS
Feedback on the run praises everyone that took part and the organisation is described as fantastic. The run raises money for St. Giles Hospice and early indications are that it could be a record year
Once again the Gate Gallop was blessed with sunshine, some would say too much and an incredible turn out of runners in the 10K. Local runners were joined by people from afar including some from Dorset, Ipswich and Warrington to name but a few places.

We alll really enjoyed the race the organisation was brilliant -
Many thanks

This is a multi terrain 10k which is run entirely off the road at Amington on the outskirts of Tamworth. ‘Never heard of it’, I hear you say, and nor had we, but the excellent directions and signposts got us to the starting field which had a fabulous sports centre supporting many football pitches and with excellent changing and catering facilities.
The 10k is the signature event, but there were 2 other events to attract the crowds – a children’s 400m and a 4.4k fun run.
As for the course, had it been wet it would have been far harder but the mud was baked solid. The sand was fine and the field crossings were heavy going in places, where the long grass sapped the energy, but it was a very pretty, traffic free and thoroughly enjoyable course. The race was rounded off with a goody bag containing an eclectic mix of lollipop, New Balance socks, Nike polo shirt (with Norwich Union emblazoned on it!), a drink and a very soggy melted chocolate bar which I have just remembered is still in my boot!

This was the first event I have taken part in over here in the UK and ...I would have to say the marshalling was excellent all the way round. Also whoever adorned all the lampposts from the A5 junction with the "Gate Gallop" signs did an awesome job.
Congrats to whoever got the goody bags together. My son was particularly pleased with his medal. Also the blueberry muffins at the cake stall deserve a special mention.
Judith.
